Lee was born in 1964 in Graham, Texas, and felt God’s calling on his life at the age of seventeen. In 1987 he received a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology from Hardin-Simmons University, and earned his Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1991. Pastor Lee has been married to Cherry, who is from the Philippines, since 1998. They have 3 children; Gabrielle, Isaac, and Luke. He and his family have been serving at First Baptist Church since September of 1998.

Chris Brown

Chris grew up in Northeast Texas in the small town of Bonham. He gave his life to Christ when he was in Jr. High and then surrender to the ministry when he was in high school. From there Chris attended East Texas Baptist University and received a degree in Music Education. Chris is currently enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to receive a masters in Theological Studies. Chris says, “My goal is to be an obedient follower of Christ and to lead other to the Throne of God, not only through music, but through discipleship, fellowship, and evangelism.”

Roxanne Poe

Roxanne was born on January 16, 1972 in Graham TX. She began singing in her family quartet when she was 5 years old, and the quartet traveled and performed at many local churches and conferences. Roxanne married her husband Michael Poe in 1993 and moved to the Fort Worth area, they have two children, Mikey and Ariss. She began singing contemporary praise music at her local church when she was 23 years old, she felt God’s call to lead worship in 2003 and led for six years. She frequently provides background vocals and records music at a local studio in Fort Worth. Roxanne became a member of FBC Azle in 2011 and began singing on the praise team as well as helping in leading the youth in worship.

Robin Johnson

Robin Johnson was born on April 19, 1978 in Fort Worth, TX. She was raised in a little town called Aledo. She has been a member of a Bible believing church all of her life. She surrendered her life to missions at the age of 15. She says, “I didn’t realize at the time that my mission was going to be children. I love being there to see the light come on, so to speak.” She has an associate’s degree in Early Childhood and Development and 20 years of experience in working with children. She has been married to David Johnson since 1999 and has three children; Dave, Savannah, and Autumn. She says, “I have learned the most from these three.” Our ministry for children here at FBC Azle is to equip children to be active participants in the Kingdom of God.

Greg Peay

Greg Peay was born on September 24, 1943 in Abilene, TX. His family moved to Big Spring in 1954 where he attended Temple Baptist Church and surrendered to Christ for “Special Service” in 1960. He attended Howard County Jr. College for two years and Hardin-Simmons University for two years. He and his wife Mary Anne, have been married for 34 years and have a daughter, Britany, who is attending Texas A&M in Commerce. He says “My ministry is designed to equip and transform the lives of Senior Adults.”

James was born on June 3, 1980 in Bitburg, Germany. In 1991, James gave public profession of Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The son of a military family James traveled extensively during his childhood and continued his travels when he joined the United States Air Force in 1999. In 2013, James felt called to ministry and enrolled at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated with his Masters of Divinity in May of 2017. James has been married to his wife Sarah since 2006. Together they have 3 children: Aaden James, Carlee May, and Christian Robert. James says, “Building Christ centered relationships will never return void; they’ll bear fruit for the Kingdom, facilitate transformation of lives, and most importantly bring Glory to God. This is the church and this is my passion!”

Wendy Wilson

Wendy Wilson was born on December 5, 1973 in Angleton, TX. Her family moved to Grapevine in 1979 where they were members of Lonesome Dove Baptist Church until they moved to Oklahoma in 1993. Wendy surrendered her life to Christ at Falls Creek Camp in 1981. After some undergraduate studies, Wendy married Beau & moved to Azle in 1996. They have raised two sons, Hayden & Dylan. She has loved volunteering with Pre-K age children since the age of 12 & currently is a Pre-K Sunday School teacher at FBC Azle. Wendy has always loved serving her church family & began working here in 2011 as Office Administrator. In 2016, she felt called to help lead the Ladies’ Ministry. Wendy says, “I am looking forward to what God has planned for the Ladies of FBC Azle!”
